Visit the College
One of the best ways to learn
more about Champlain is to visit. Check out the
Visiting
Champlain page for information about campus
tours or an interview with an Admissions Counselor.
Can't make it to campus?
We'll come to you! Take a look at the Admissions
travel schedule to find out where you can go
to meet someone from Champlain.
New Virtual Tour takes you
inside
Take a look at the 360-degree
panoramic images we've created. You can see
the heart of campus, a real dorm room, the view
from the Vista Room, a classroom in the Information
Commons, our computer library, and the backyard
of Admissions. A virtual tour should never be a
substitute for an actual visit, but it does give
a glimpse into the Champlain experience.
High School Freshmen and Sophomores
Planning For College Down The Road
Throughout high school, students
should enroll in college prep level courses that
are challenging. Our Admissions Committee looks
for motivated students who have performed to their
potential. Challenging senior year courses and continued
academic performance are an important part of the
review process, even if graduation requirements
have been met by the end of junior year.
Champlain likes to see evidence
of students giving something back to their school
and community as well. We want well-rounded students
who will contribute to the campus community. We
are interested in the solid "B" student
who has participated in extra-curricular activities
and has done community service. However, students
should pursue areas of genuine personal interest,
rather than areas that are supposed to "look
good" on an application.
