Courtney CahillCortney Cahill

Cortney Cahill, M.S.O.D, based in Burlington, VT, is a passionate and energetic organization development scholar and practitioner. She has twelve years experience facilitating, consulting, and coaching in mission-driven organizations. Cortney's work focuses on helping individuals and organizations drive results by changing behaviors, shifting thinking, and becoming aware of underlying beliefs and assumptions in service of growth. Cortney coaches executives and leadership teams to navigate change, working with organizations in both the public and private sectors.

Cortney holds a Masters in Organization Development from American University and National Training Labs of Applied Behavioral Science (NTL), and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado. Cortney is a faculty for the NTL Diversity Leadership Certificate Program and an adjunct faculty at Champlain College. She is also a graduate of the International Organization System Development Program at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland.

Cortney has worked as an internal organization development consultant both in health care and in marketing. In both positions her work focused on leadership development, diversity leadership, training, change management, and executive coaching. Earlier in her career, she worked with organizations designing and leading teambuilding activities, and guided international travelers on walking vacations throughout Latin America. In addition to her active professional schedule, she has served as an officer and board member for a Mobius the Mentoring Movement, a community mentoring program.

Hal ColstonDr. Hal Colston

Hal’s lifelong interests of social justice and entrepreneurship have been blended in his career path as the founding director the Good News Garage which was created to address the need of transportation equity for people in poverty.  Good News Garage has become a national model with locations in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.  Hal left GNG in March 2004 to create a new non-profit, NeighborKeepers, strengthening communities one family at a time, which launched in January of 2006 engaging families lacking resources to be in an intentional relationship of support with allies who befriend them.  Circles of Support (three allies per family) are created based on trust and reciprocity where allies are in solidarity with the community member family to help them achieve their goals and break the isolation of poverty.  NeighborKeepers is in a planning process with the communities of St. Albans, Milton, Johnson, and Brattleboro to expand statewide.    

Hal has served on the board of several organizations: Vermont Development Credit Union, United Way of Chittenden County, Mobius, Center for Media and Democracy, and the New England Synod Council.  Currently, Hal serves on the board of HowardCenter, Vermont Health Foundation, United Way’s Community Investment Committee, Vermont AARP Executive Council, and the Visiting Nurse Association.  Hal is a graduate of Leadership Champlain (2000) and Snelling Center’s Vermont Leadership Institute (2004).  In his spare, time Hal has volunteered with Outreach for Earth Stewardship for the past ten years as a caregiver for injured raptors.

Beth KuhnBeth Kuhn

Beth Kuhn is a Project Director at United Way of Chittenden County, working with employers and the community at large on issues of low wage workers, anti-poverty and economic development. Beth has spent her career working at the intersection of business, government and nonprofit agencies, focusing on issues of child care and education, elder care, public health, and workplace innovations and programs.

Beth has a Master’s degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Cornell University (MILR 1987) and a BA in Public Policy from Michigan State University (BA 1984). Beth and husband Ken Edwards reside in Shelburne, Vermont with their two sons, one dog, and a basement full of baseball memorabilia.

Sarah MerrittSarah Merritt, SPHR

Sarah Merritt spent several years at Chittenden Corporation as Senior Vice President/Director of Human Resources before joining Peoples United Bank as Senior Vice President in the Organization Effectiveness division.  Currently she is working as a consultant supporting micro-finance institutions in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. 

Michael MiceliMichael Miceli, MBA

Michael Miceli is an Adjunct Professor in Champlain College’s Division of Business and at Northeastern University.  He is the principal of the Miceli Consulting Group, a leading management consulting firm serving Fortune 500 corporations such as Du Pont, Kodak, GE, Gulf, HP, IBM and Price Waterhouse, as well as privately held companies.

Linda MillerLinda Miller, CPA, Ph.D.

Linda Miller is currently Assistant Dean of Business & Accounting programs in Champlain College’s Division of Continuing Professional Studies and has spent the past 20 years in higher education and corporate training at Penn State and The University of Vermont. Linda also has years of corporate experience as a consultant.

Jim WhitneyJim Whitney

Jim Whitney is an Associate Professor in Champlain College’s Division of Business. He teaches strategy, decision making, and other management courses in both the undergraduate and MBA programs. Jim also worked in management positions at small and Fortune 500 firms. He is a principal in StrateQi, an executive coaching and management consulting practice.
