> Inc. magazine mentioned the BYOBiz program and Champlain College in articles about young entrepreneurs and 30 top entrepreneurs under 30.
December 2006
> Champlain College was well represented in an article about young entrepreneurs in the December 7 issue of USA Today. Two Champlain entrepreneurs were interviewed, as was President Dave Finney, who was quoted in relation to the new BYOBiz program.
November 2006
> The BYOBiz program was featured in Interface Tech News on November 10. The publication reports: “This hands-on, real-world program is designed to allow students to integrate existing businesses or business plans with their course of study.”
October 2006
> Entrepreneur magazine [Web, downloadable PDF] features Champlain’s BYOBiz program in a two-page spread in its November issue, reporting that “while running your business, you can learn valuable skills such as accounting and marketing, and meet with advisors to help you grow.”
September 2006
> The “Marketplace” business report, heard on more than 330 public radio stations across the country, aired a five-minute feature about the BYOBiz program on September 25, 2006.
August 2006
> Burlington Free Press announces that the iPod accessory company founded by rising Champlain sophomore Ben Kaufman (www.mophie.com) has attracted $1 million in venture capital funding.
July 2006
> On WCVB-TV5 in Boston, Champlain’s BYOBiz program and student entrepreneur Ben Kaufman were highlighted during a “Chronicle” episode that focused on Vermont’s demographics and economy.
June 2006
> Champlain's unique BYOBiz Program is featured in the region's media during the summer. Articles are found online at the Burlington Free Press and Mass High Tech: The Journal of New England Technology.
> Champlain College unveils innovative BYOBiz Program to grow the businesses of young entrepreneurs while they study at Champlain. Vt. Governor Jim Douglas joined Burlington Mayor Bob Kiss and Champlain President Dave Finney in formally announcing the program to the community.
May 2006
> Champlain "Biz Kids": Seven Day's front-page story about young entrepreneurs in Vermont is kicked off by Champlain freshman Ben Kaufman of Mophie, and closed by alumnus Dave Winslow of EpikOne.
